Greetings from press row, BEARS Nation.
Just wanted to update you all, as it has become a historic game already.
Grant Potulny broke the record for the fastest goal in franchise history with his goal 8 seconds into play tonight.
Wilson also scored at 4:20, and the BEARS currently lead 2-1, in case you were wondering.

Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas, BEARS Nation.
I know the updates have been lacking lately, and I apologize for that. There was some technical difficulty after that ice storm (I was without power), and I had some finals to deal with. But now that I'm on break, there will be more posts for your reading pleasure.
I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday.

Chocolate in the Air
One thing's for sure. The Verizon Center ice was bleeding chocolate tonight.
Bears players were all over the score sheet for Washington, as the Caps won their third straight game at home--a feat not accomplished in the past 11 months.
Joe Motzko tallied two goals (his first and second for Washington) and number one star honors. Mike Green was named the second star after posting two assists and a goal: the game winner 3:41 into overtime. Jeff Schultz scored again, his third in as many games, and Brooks Laich notched two assists.
Not a bad showing for the night. Definitely a good alternative to British literature papers.
I'm currently working on the story concerning ECHL travel conditions as promised by Dupree (instead of those aforementioned British lit papers), and I'll have that for you all as soon as I can get all the information together. I'm currently in the midst of research for it. In the meantime, I'll be home to see the Bears take on Toronto on Saturday night. I'll try to have something interesting to post afterwards.
Go Caps, Go Bears!

Line Changes and Introductions
Greetings, BEARS Nation, direct from State College. It is truly an honor to take the reigns of the blog from Dupree, and I promise I'll do my best to drive it straight into the ground (I kid). In all seriousness, I intend to uphold the high quality of information Dupree has provided you all thus far.
That being said, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jess, and I am a 20 year old Penn State student. I am a junior, though only in my second year here, and I'm working on a public relations and English double major. I interned with HERSHEY over the summer, and I attend games as often as I can, helping out in the press box. One day I hope to be a PR director for a hockey team. I am an avid hockey fan, and I can assure you that I am not now, nor will I ever become a "puck bunny." I hope that you can all accept this promise, as well as trust that I will continue to provide you with the caliber of posts you all want and undoubtedly deserve. Don't think of this as Dupree abandoning you; consider it a line change.
I can't stress enough how excited I am to be involved in this blog, and I promise it'll be an adventure.
Looking forward to my first shift,
Jess

The time has come to say goodbye
My duties with the BEARS have increased two fold since Bob Woods has taken over the reigns of the club. I now work for him, which has limited the time I can spend bringing BEARS/hockey news to all of you. It is with sadness that this will be my last post until the end of the season, which I know we all hope, ends sometime in the beginning of June with Cup number ten. Don't be sad BEARS nation, a good friend of mine has decided to take over for me. Jess Mikula will be taking over effective immediately. Please be as kind to Jess as you've been to me, besides she writes a whole hell of alot better then me.
As I said in my first post,if you ever up around press row in the GC please stop in and say hi. Also remember to check out the links i have listed. I was able to sit with John Keely, from On Frozen Blog, last night at Verizon before the Caps/Devils game. He has a great piece on last night's game on his blog.
GO BEARS!!!!
