The Bears travel to South Philadelphia on Friday, to take on the Phantoms for the third weekend in a row. Simeon Varlamov will draw the start in net for the Bears. Hershey will return home on Saturday to take on the first place Bridgeport Sound Tigers. No decision has been made as of yet who will draw the start in net.

Caps Lineup vs. Kings(10:30 ET)

The Caps lineup for the game tonight versus the LA Kings looks like this:

Forwards

Ovechkin-Backstrom-Kozlov

Fleischmann-Laich-Fehr

Steckel-Gordon-Bradley

Brashear-Nylander-Clark

Defense
Schultz-Morrisonn

Poti-Sloan

Erskine-Jurcina

Goalie

Johnson

Injury Update-According to Tarik El Bashir of the Washington Post, Mike Green will have an MRI today or tomorrow to determine the extent of his shoulder injury.

Caps win 6-4 over Ducks, lose Green

The Caps 6-4 victory over the Ducks last night in Anaheim, could be a costly one. Mike Green absorbed a hard hit from Chris Pronger late in the first period, violently sending him shoulder first into the end boards. Green did not return and was seen walking around the locker room after the game in a shoulder sling. Green and the Caps hope to know more this morning after the morning skate. Green's injury does not necessarily mean a recall is iminante. The Caps hope Shaone Morrisonn will be able to return to the lineup. It also appears Tyler Sloan will be staying with the Caps a little bit longer. I'll post an update as soon as more is learned on Mike Green's injury.

Gabby and the Caps Head West

The Washington Capitals head west to visit the Anaheim Ducks to begin a four game road trip and a stretch of seven games in eleven days, beginning tomorrow night. The Capitals(10-4-3) enter the contest atop the Southeast Division just one point ahead of the Carolina Hurricanes(10-7-2).

The Capitals could be without three of their top players. Leading scorer and point getter Alexander Semin is listed as doubtful(back/shoulder strain), Sergei Federov is questionable(sprained ankle) and Shaone Morrisonn is a game-time decision(strained groin muscle), thanks to Caps beat writer Tarik El Bashir for the injury info.

After tomorrow nights game in Anaheim, the Caps will take to the ice on Thursday visiting the L.A. Kings, before traveling to San Jose to face the Sharks. The Caps will finish up their 4-game trek on Monday night in Minnesota before returning home to face the Atlanta Thrashers on Thanksgiving Eve at Verizon Center.

Some Suggested Reading

As I was perusing On Frozen Blog this morning, I read a story that was recommended in a recent post, and I thought I'd throw my own endorsement onto the article in case you haven't read it yet. It's well worth your time. It is a Washington Post piece about the first hockey program in a public D.C. high school and how it is being handled after the coach and founder suddenly died. It is definitely a must read.

Back to School

Classes started up again today, and unfortunately, I won't be making as many BEARS games this semester. I have an internship with the Johnstown Chiefs, and I'll be spending game nights there for the next couple months. At least I'll still get my fill of hockey in my absence from Giant Center.

There's a great story on Hershey's website about Canada's Mr. Hockey, Don Cherry himself. Here's the link: http://www.hersheypa.com/events/hershey_bears/detail.php?id=2335

Some Reading Material

I don't know how many of you folks frequent the AHL's website, but the AHL on the beat story that was posted today is about Bob Woods. Trust me, there's some good information in there, and it's worth your time. (I would know, I wrote it.) I know it may seem like shameless self promotion here, but really, there are some great quotes and fun facts that I think you all might want to read.

Here's the link, if you feel so inclined. Enjoy!
